AT THE END OF THE DAY - by Lisa

People have lots of problems.  We have lots of ways to fix the problems which often consist of lots of ways to hide from them.  Not surprisingly, most of these solutions aren't really very effective and so we end up with... lots of problems.

I was watching a TV talk show the other day about pain in our lives.  The host said some people try to cover it up through drinking.  Others do it through overworking.  Some do it through status and achievement.  Others over-eat.  There are about as many ways to cover up pain as there are grains of sand on the beach.  But they are all cover-ups.

So at the end of the day, where are we?  If we've spent that day hiding, avoiding, and covering, won't we still be in the same position as when we started?  But if we could find the "real cure" the end of the day would bring peace.

Much of our emotional pain calls for a spiritual resolution.  A good start is to remember that we are made in the image of God.  He has written our names on the palms of his hands.  He calls us by name.  Perhaps our issue calls for forgiveness.  Perhaps it calls for faith.   Whatever the solution, only God can provide the courage to stop running, squarely face the problem, and finally move on.

So where are you at the end of your day?  Do the same old problems come back time after time, still unresolved?  Consider a different approach - a God centered approach.   Drop your defenses, get rid of the cover-ups and listen to his voice instead.  As night closes in, God's peace will flow through you like a river.  Amen.

Blessings,

Lisa

Our problems are not problems; they are tickets to learning and ascending. As you say, there are many ways to cover them up. All you have to do is change your definition. Confront each challenge and you will learn and ascend. And if they seem overwhelming, or unfair, then pray and listen, and you will learn.

    Hi Angel -

Yes, I agree. Our problems often turn out to be learning opportunities in disguise. Also, I've found that even the most hurtful things happen for a reason. Sometimes I've looked back years later and finally understood that a particular situation that was very difficult actually opened doors to life that would not have been opened otherwise. So we need to learn from the opportunities that God gives to us as part of his grand plan.

    What do you think?

Thanks so much for writing and have a blessed day.

Hi if people would just think about how good they have got it and not be so greedy then some of the problems in this world may be avoided.
