HOW QUIET CAN I BE?- By Calvin Wulf
Spiritual Formation

On a hiking retreat with my friend Howard, I found a place under a tree where it seemed good to meditate on Psalm 19. I was caught up in a conversation with the heavens. They declare the glory of God, so it was worth my time to listen.
Then I was struck by this verse, "They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them." (Psalm 19:3 TNIV) It takes a lot of silence to hear the heavens. How quiet can I be?
Still contemplation took me into a deeper silence. Clouds are guided in their appointed purpose. Stars sing together, each one unique. I must be silent so that I can hear.
