Living for God

Whoever wins the crown rules! Right? That's how we play the game. We don't think about kings so much these days, but there was a time when the rule of a monarch was absolute. Men played games of war to gain the right to wear the crown.

What is it like in the kingdom of heaven? We find Jesus pictured in the Revelation riding a horse and wearing many crowns. Then we read, "On his robe and thigh was written this title: King of kings and Lord of lords." (Revelation 19:16 NLT) We may say, "Jesus is Lord," but do we really live that way? Any loyal subject would put the king's teaching into action.

The One who wears the crown is the rightful ruler. The rule of Christ is love. His law is to love our neighbors, even the aliens within our gates, and to live at peace with all people. Amen?
