ONE-MINUTE god - By Calvin Wulf

Living for God

Living for God One Minute God

Are you seeking the one-minute god? Yes, I mean god in small letters. Consumer minded Christians have created a market for products like a one-minute Bible study and a faith-minute broadcast so that they can save their time for the more important things in life. And as we all know, consumer preference rules the market place.

It seems that the god of one-minute is displacing the God of creation. Many of us want to condense our spiritual relationship with Lord Jesus into a one-minute bite. Even Sunday morning worship is just another weekend option. It's time to remember that Israel, God's chosen people, always got in trouble for tuning their backs on him toward other pursuits.

Look at your calendar and examine your priorities. Reconsider
the speed of life. Have this conversation with your whole family. Return to God and reduce the lesser activities to a manageable minute. What gets time priority in your life?

I've heard it termed as 'we live in a microwave society'. We have so much going on in our lives no one thing can have any importance...all is priority. Or is it nothing (including God)is priority?

Being a 'born again' Christian for a very short time I am only beginning to feel the sorrow God feels. How can we keep putting all these idols ahead of our relatiohship with Him?

Hi Lisa. The sorrow you feel touches my heart. You are feeling the heart of God. He made us to have intimate relationship with him and with people around us. Our busyness defeats the purpose of our Creator. Your sorrow is the reality of Gods love in your heart. Spend some time loving God and loving a neighbor today!
