THE EASY WAY OUT - by Lisa Are Wulf
Living for God

What does it mean to live the Christ-like life? How exactly do we do it? How hard is it? How much is enough? And the million dollar question – is it worth it or even necessary?
Calvin and I have pondered these questions for years. We've tried to organize our lives around Christ but that isn't easy. In fact, more often than not, it's downright hard to maintain our focus in the middle of work, relationships, and "real life." We sometimes stand at a crossroad chasing an illusive goal.
But I guess it comes down to this. One can either live a sacrificial life for Christ or take the easy way out. I know that sounds stark. But inevitably times of conflict and decision come our way. Do we have a faith that always has an "out?" Or do we continue on the road, committed in our devotion, reaching ever closer to Christ?
What do you think?

Lisa,
It's a great set of questions. I'm convinced that the good parts of living this way will have to far exceed the hard. What is required by the Teacher in order to live this life is three simple things. Come, Take and Learn. I consider myself among the weary and heavy laden so I'm certain the call applies to me. I need to learn how to balance the load and manage the weight of this life. Only the Caller has done it right and I'm willing to yoke with Him. I know I don't know all I can and should. Far from it. So learning from Him how to live my life if it were He living it seems like a more than reasonable proposition.
Thanks for raising the question and letting me put thought to it.
