BEHIND THE MASK - by Lisa Are Wulf

I recently heard a speaker say "God can't heal a façade." He went on to remark that many of us walk around with a projector, making sure that everyone sees only what we want them to see. But to paraphrase an old saying, "You can fool some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time, but you can never fool God at any time."
So unless we are honest and transparent in our dealings with Jesus, we can hope for precious little healing. But our task is daunting, to say the least. Perhaps we're ashamed of who we really are. Possibly we're afraid that we aren't good enough and won't be accepted. Or maybe we really do believe the lies that flicker on our personal movie screens.
Whatever the case, unless we take off our masks, we won't know God's healing grace. It's a tough assignment. Are you up for it?
