What does the birth of Jesus mean to you personally? I was astonished by what I found in my own contemplation on this question. And, it was no gushy or childish Sunday school answer.
It came to me that Jesus was born as a baby child who had a healthy infant experience with his mother and his father. He had a good childhood and a secure attachment with his parents. And, after all, Jesus is human completeness.
I'm haunted by a photograph of me sitting on Santa's lap when I was two years old. A counselor told me that I had the look of a traumatized child. Most of my childhood photos lack smiles, and record sad and vacant expressions.
But I realized that as I become more like Jesus, my early childhood experience is becoming renewed into his. Sweet baby Jesus, I'm being completely transformed. Would you contemplate on the meaning of Jesus' birth for yourself? Share your answer here, if you will.
