MY INNER GORILLA by Calvin Wulf
Christian Living~

Stories about the mountain gorillas of Rwanda have fascinated me for years. Somehow, I identify with their lives. Their stories are a source of healing and hope for me. A dominant male gorilla called Titus is of special interest.
Titus had a very difficult life growing up, but he became the leader of a large gorilla group. He is known for his strong yet peaceful leadership style. Veronica Vecellio, a researcher who observed Titus over the years, had this to say about him. "It was a big surprise to see such a big leader being so gentle with other gorillas and among us human observers." That's a good reputation.
"Let your gentleness be evident to all," as we are exhorted by the apostle Paul. Gentleness is an attribute of Christ. I hope that one day an observer might say of me what Ms. Vecellio said of the mountain gorilla named Titus. Meanwhile, I'll keep working on my inner gorilla.
Note: The photograph is a stock photo of a male mountain gorilla, but it is not a picture of Titus.

Titus is an inspiration to us all!
