Our daily reality is an unceasing stream of high-tech digital media. It wakes us up, keeps us going fast and helps us sleep. It's even our source of spiritual inspiration. In it, we pretend to live and move and have our being. But wait, the apostle Paul talks about unceasing prayer, not ceaseless media.
True worship must be more than just singing and dancing. The human soul desires a more profound experience with God. We long for a contemplative worship experience, but the volume of praise is too loud for the still small voice of God. The awe and mystery we seek isn't found in a fog machine.
God truly is more awesome than our praise. And we are more than the songs we sing. There's a more profound spiritual experience waiting for everyone who wants to live in a different mode than the current norm. Maybe what we're looking for can only be found in stillness and quiet.
