WHO'S BLIND? - by Calvin Wulf
Living for God~

The disciples asked Jesus, "Rabbi, why was this man born blind? Was it because of his parent's sins or his own sins?" But Jesus wasn't concerned with anyone's ideas about sin. Instead, he saw a human being who had suffered all his life.
The compassion of Jesus drew him to care for the suffering. Other religious authorities in this story were obsessed with finding sin both in the blind man and in his healer. They concentrated on excluding people who were not like them.
Jesus chose to reveal his Father's glory through a suffering blind man who was not acceptable to the the established order. He gave honor and new life to a man who the so-called spiritual authorities would condemn. These authorities would have thrown him out of the church and Jesus with him.
Are modern Christians very much different than the Jews who confronted the man born blind? Maybe, but not so much.
