WITH JESUS - by Calvin Wulf
Spiritual Life~

Jesus has a passionate desire for his servants to be where he is. Even here and now in the land of the living, Jesus says, "Where I am, my servant is with me." We are welcome to meet with him and be with him in this life.
"The fact that God became a human being is a firm conformation of our hope for the divine transformation of human nature." That's great assurance from Maximus the Confessor, one of the most important Christian mystics writing in the 7th century. The fact that Jesus is God and human tells us that a living human can be present with God.
The Christian discipline of contemplation opens the spiritual nature born in every human to the divine presence of Jesus. The human self is emptied so that the spiritual self can be overwhelmed by the presence of Christ. Contemplation ushers us through the narrow gate into the glory of God.
