LABYRINTH STEPS - by Calvin Wulf
Spiritual Journey~

Have you ever walked a labyrinth? Unlike a maze, the labyrinth path guides you to the center so you don't get lost. When I walk the labyrinth, my journey inward is a time of focusing and reflecting. At the center, I encounter God on his terms. My journey outward is a time of appropriating my experience at the center.
I remember one time it took all of my effort to focus on my next step on my journey to the center and I struggled to keep my mind quiet. I rested at the center allowing God to refresh my weary soul. At the center, I rested for my journey outward.
The ground was uneven and the path was narrow. I had to stay aware of my center in order to keep my balance. It seemed that each step required more effort. As always, this labyrinth walk so replicated my life. It helped me re-center, refocus and reflect.
